NIN Film Festival

I am planning to make a short film based on NIN music from "Ghosts" album. NIN actually made a whole community project based on film festival concept. So, I am looking forward to it because it gives out pretty much Kultesque and weird fiction feeling.

I am so excited about it although I will definitely need a small budget to do it. It is rather a big ambition short film. First of all, I need a white van...

Small personal note on my face

Non-shaving campaign

Small personal note. These days I am completely out of the reality since I got so many projects running on. You better not ask about them. I wouldn't list them all from my memory. Anyway, I wanted to show you the results of being ignorant to razor and that fluffy stuff you spray on your face to shave. That's how I look like after a couple of weeks on not shaving.

I tell you first issue was no light in the bathroom. Then it was just pure ignorance and business. Now it is deliberate. Totally.

We are Slave-State.org revolt

Slave-state.org

It has been a couple of weeks since we started again Slave State activity. Seems that we are going into a right direction. Black Ocean setting together with Th Hve are going really well. We are still expanding our horizons more and more. I tell you this is very educative experience to work with those people: Tyrant, Jhas777 and Tipareth. So I repeat after the title: we are mighty! I might say also that we gathered some intensly creative personalities there and it only adds to it.

Follow these forums to keep informed of this revolution. I encourage you to grab the RSS feed.

Horror.polter.pl started at last

Ladies and gentlemen. Today is an opening the day for a polish Call of Cthulhu and Kult RPG section situated on Poltergeist portal.

I managed to write a honourable first article called "Kulthulhu - alternative mythologies" talking about the connections between Call of Cthulhu and Kult RPG. More precisely about their so called human connection. Unfortunately for you, my dear readers, it is in Polish language. I might translate it though.

Same as some stuff for The Last Cycle forums I need to do. Like Aegri Somnia short story.

TLC Scenario Writers Challenge 2008

Hearken once more, meatpuppets. Your masters again play a tune for our vile amusement, and like pretty marionettes you shall dance and cavort to our whimsical dirge!

Same deal as last year: write the best Kult scenario your feeble mind can conceive and submit it for judgement. Use whichever rules edition you please, including whatever creatures, concepts, characters and cults you wish to produce an interesting horror story able to be played with minimal preparation (...)

Slave-State.org launches offensive!

Lately I must say it is going better and better. It isn't perhaps the issue of personal optimisim but rather of external factors that are slowly forming into a river of creativity. So, I would like to present you, my dear readers, a small unofficial publisher of Common License indie RPG products. What products?, you may ask. Currently Slave State is creating two systems based on an author engine called Defector.

The first system is called Th Hve and is inspired by Kult RPG but being totally different from it. One of the main differences is lack of basing the setting on judeo-christian notions The main part plays here the society and its attitude towards the surrounding world.

The second system is called Black Ocean and is a futuristic version of the previous system. Imagine humanity, that progressed so far that it forgot the way back. Imagine a world, in which there is no Earth anymore, only forgotten colonies. World, in which people ripped of hope have to follow politicults to survive the chaos and decay. World in which there is no hope. Only Black Ocean of emotions and instincts.

Both systems are based on the same Defector engine using d20. Defector is characterized by very intuitive handling and realistic PC creation. Player who wants to play Th Hve or Black Ocean isn't creating a mighty character but a common person led by own emotions and desires.

Pseudo-realism and application of social behaviors and algorythms is one of the main features of Slave State publishing. Games aren't designed only to gain pleasure but also to understand particular things and to learn from them.

I encourage you to check out the English forum Signals Intelligence where the creation of the games is being discussed.

Dreaming Toolbox web concept

Remember when I was talking about the Opiumgarden.org website that Jacinto Quesnel told me about? Now his friend, Psyrax, established sort of a webpage for me at http://masiakowski.opiumgarden.org/. I am planning quite a lot of things concerning that webspace.

The first concept is called Dreaming Toolbox, which I propagated through out my profiles on the Internet. The site will be a kind of such toolbox containing everything I want to do in the future, and what I am doing currently. So long story short it will be a project portfolio. I have a basic concept about the design but I still need to learn more useful code to make it better.

To be honest at this moment it looks like crap, but I am planning to improve. Currently you can see there two images: Industrium and 301D. The first one is my abandoned places series of photos. I will be increasing the number of urban exploration locations and putting all photos right there. So I might need some kind of a gallery system for that. The second one is a short film project I am making with people all around the globe. It is based on Kult RPG as well.

So, prepare for lots of fun people. There is some major breakthrouhg coming soon. I don't know yet if it is a breakthrough for you or for me though.

Gallery Director on deviantART

And so it becomes the reality. I have become a Gallery Director of Film category on deviantART. I am actually very proud of that fact because I always wanted to help supporting the community through behind the scenes place. It is really exciting I tell you.

So now I work under supervision of Moonbeam13 and FallenRox together with Nico, Guruubii, DVEditor and Feawen to ensure the development of the youngest baby of the site: Film category. It is fairly new, it launched not so long ago so it has many chances of really great boost. Actually it is a very special type of gallery because it bases a bit different audience and a bit different creators.

Making a film is a multitasking, multipersonal effort that has completely different approach than normal pieces of art. It usually takes a lot more time to create something good than when talking about 2D or 3D art but motionless. And perhaps this is what keeps me thinking about pursuing this path. The specialization of art. Team group, inventive thinking, problem solving. All of it is contained within film.

So if you have time come to deviantART.com and enjoy the new film gallery. We are constantly cleaning it up and moderating to make your experience the best as possible. That's my job. Improving and bringing the community together.

University camera is rolling

filming week

Lots of nervousness lately, caused by trying to create some sense and feeling of good job in video making. Hard thing I have to say but it is all about exercise and that's what I am happy about.

Short "52" will be originally presented on a school course but it will have an extended edition which will be massive improvement to the vision making it more video artsy (that will be done in next couple of weeks). Today we shot main samples for "52" and I am very proud of the results. The same will be done with documentary "Underground Bar" about one of the best, unfortunately already closed, pubs in France.

Time is strict. The clock is going on. Do your best.

Industrial awakening

Just a quick entry before I go off to other important activities. Lately I have been able to immerse into lovely urban exploration society. Now I know a lot more than year ago when my interest in such kind of activity was only born. What I know now, makes me very proud of what I do. There are places in the world that deserve to be known after they will to be demolished.

Bringing life to dead structures.

Film-making heaven really exists!

You probably already know that I am on Photographic and Electronic Media course at Grays School of Art in Scotland. Today I had a wonderful lecture about the contents of the course and I must say that's totally surprising for me in a pleasant way because it is not much deal about photographic media itself. It is mainly about film-making and generaly this kind of stuff.

What was later on just kicked my head inside out. We were talked over and showed all the equipment for the PEM course. This is just amazing. They have whole sound-proof recording studio, tones of video and film equipment, they are even planning to get the blue box place to practice on. They have audio equipment as well, microphones, plugs, software. They have lots of different video cameras, even widescreen HDV camera that just blown my mind.

That's exactly what we can use during the 301D film. And all of it is available now (I don't have to wait for another few months to get that on PEM course directly). I don't know about what to be happy first. Perhaps at the thing that generally PEM came out to be a course mostly about film-making.

So you can tell I am in heaven. Really. Best day of my life up till now.

Natural fridge called Scotland

And here comes the time when some activities are starting to thrive and be self-explanatory. We start to gather powerful groups to life. Also, from those less important things, I can see first snow in Aberdeen since seven months. At last it is cold. Heaven for flesh.

All in all, there should be always time to rest from work. That's why from time to time you can find us wandering around the frozen city. Nature really isn't joking. She decided to blow the horn against the humanity.

I am disconnecting from that almost nuclear winter. Time to gather supplies.

Opium by night

Article for Kulthulhu is going well. During the night I wrote a whole page of notes. I couldn't sleep. During the weekend I will talk with Zsu and we'll see what can we make out of it. All in all it is really promising.

What is interesting, my friend Jacinto Quesnel, who on the other hand is very good visual artist, gave me an opportunity to get my own Internet nest at OpiumGarden.org. You should expect to see portfolio in a month or less.

However, now I am going to to watch another season of X-Files. As you can see there are three new ones on my shelf.

Green fields

I have been today on a photo session with Carey and we went to the sea shore. How much I had to convince her to take out her photo camera and make photos. She's on Photographic and Electronic Media course so she should be making quite a lot of photos, exercise. Someone has to push her forward.

Moreover, I managed to take some really useful pictures for my square photo-manipulation series. Cool. I even like some of the effects. I have to find new textures by now, I don't want to repeat myself. Or start making my own so that there would be no problems with any publication.

Kulthulhu rises with the sun

I am just starting to write welcoming article for Kulthulhu (that's now the official name for the fusion of two Poltergeist sections). However, the alias stays the same: horror.polter.pl.

where my thoughts live

Coming back to the article, I have to write it down as soon as possible. I wrote something previously and now it should be expanded. That's why I brought in some little weapons of mass destruction to do it.

Article should be done until weekend. That's an assumption.
